Google released Dataset Search today. This is an incredible tool for identifying all datasets available on the Internet. If you are looking for data on a paprticular topic, previously you would have to use Google search. While an excellent search engine, Google is built to find results to specific inquiries rather than organized data on a particular subject. This would lead to some difficulty in locating data. Google Dataset Search fixes that problem.
Google uses Schema.org's protocol for presenting datasets online. Any dataset posted that follows these protocols is now optimized for Google Dataset Search. We have organized all datasets on Data & Sons using the Schema.org protocol for over the past year. Pick a dataset listing on Data & Sons and begin typiing it into the search bar on Dataset Search and you will see it prepopulate as one of the search results. Pretty cool hey?
